Open Call for Anti-corruption experts with specific expertise in corruption risk assessment (CRA) and corruption proofing of legislation (CPL)

The Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) jointly implemented the Southeast Europe Regional Programme on Strengthening the Capacity of Anti-corruption Authorities and Civil Society to Combat Corruption and Contribute to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Review Process from December 2015 to August 2020. The Programme was funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), represented by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). Based on the successful implementation of this programme, as witnessed by the independent evaluation, RAI and UNODC are launching a new three-year Regional Programme entitled Southeast Europe – Together Against Corruption (SEE-TAC), funded by ADA.

The overall goal of the SEE-TAC Programme is to strengthen resilience of the SEE societies to corruption, by enhancing the capacity of governments, civil society organizations (CSOs), the private sector (PS) and the media to prevent and fight corruption and to achieve an effective implementation of the UNCAC. This programme will focus on Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, as well as Kosovo*, with participation of Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia.

Under the auspices of the SEE-TAC Programme, 25 public institutions, 40 business representatives and 175 civil society representatives, the UNCAC Coalition and the WB6 Chamber Investment Forum as special partners will be working together on the implementation of a wide range of activities.

The SEE-TAC Programme will be following several innovative approaches: sectoral action for enhancing the preventive corruption tools; focused on impact assessment; combining government, civil society and the private sector; sector-focused approaches in joint anti-corruption efforts; numerous capacity-building occasions on UNCAC and its Review Mechanism; promotion and implementation of the International Treaty for Exchange of Data on Verification of Asset Declarations as a strong anti-corruption and integrity tool. The novel programmatic approach will represent more profiling of the partnership among RAI and UNODC, embedding cross-over activities and a joint outcome for raising the public awareness about the anti-corruption efforts, thus promoting the motto of “togetherness”.

In the attempt to further strengthen the implementation of corruption prevention mechanisms in the SEE region, RAI Secretariat is seeking experts in the fields of corruption risk assessment and corruption proofing of legislation, to join forces in the implementation of the SEE-TAC programme.
